Corallocarpus epigaeus (akashgaddha/akashgarudi) is a tuberous climber of the gourd family, valued in Indian folk and Ayurvedic medicine especially as a traditional antidote for snakebite and scorpion sting, and for skin diseases, syphilis, rheumatism, chronic dysentery and as a bitter purgative and 'blood-purifier'.
