Hottonia palustris (water violet, featherfoil) is an aquatic primrose-family plant with feathery submerged leaves and pale lilac flowers held above the water. Hottonia palustris is little studied pharmacologically and has scant documented medicinal use; it contains ordinary flavonoids and phenolics but is not an established remedy. Its main modern presence is as a Bach flower essence, whose effects are not demonstrated by conventional pharmacology.
