Adiantum lunulatum (walking / bracken maidenhair fern) is a maidenhair fern used in Indian traditional medicine as a cooling herb for fevers, coughs, chest complaints, skin diseases and urinary problems. Adiantum lunulatum aerial parts have been screened phytochemically and shown to have α-glucosidase inhibitory (antidiabetic) activity, and Adiantum species used in traditional medicine have documented antimicrobial activity. This gives some modern support to its traditional cooling, antimicrobial and blood-sugar-related uses; evidence is largely preclinical.فُحِصت الأجزاء الهوائية لسرخس كزبرة البئر الهلالي كيميائياً وثبت لها نشاطٌ مثبّط لألفا-غلوكوزيداز (مضاد للسكري)، ولأنواع الأديانتوم المستعملة في الطبّ التقليدي نشاطٌ موثّق مضاد للميكروبات. وهذا يمنح دعماً حديثاً لبعض استعمالاته المبرّدة والمضادة للميكروبات والمتعلّقة بسكر الدم؛ والأدلة أوّلية غالباً.
