Parietaria diffusa (pellitory-of-the-wall, with P. officinalis/judaica) is a soft nettle-family herb that grows in wall cracks and stony places. It is a classic diuretic and soothing (demulcent) urinary remedy, long used for kidney and bladder gravel/stones, cystitis and fluid retention, with anti-inflammatory activity. As a diuretic, use it with plenty of water and cautiously alongside diuretic and blood-pressure medicines. ⚠️ Its pollen is a major hay-fever allergen, so people allergic to Parietaria/nettle-family pollen may react to the plant. Kidney stones need medical assessment — use it as supportive care, not a substitute.
