Used as a diuretic 'stone-breaking' tea for urinary gravel/stones, cystitis and kidney and bladder complaints, as a soothing tea for coughs, hoarseness and chest complaints, and traditionally for the spleen and liver and for 'melancholy'; also a mild astringent.يُستعمل شاياً مُدرّاً «مُفتِّتاً للحصى» للحصى/الرمل البوليّ والتهاب المثانة وشكاوى الكلى والمثانة، وشاياً مُهدّئاً للسعال والبحّة وشكاوى الصدر، وتقليدياً للطحال والكبد و«السوداء»؛ وهو قابضٌ خفيف أيضاً.

Cautionتحذيرات
A gentle traditional herb, but as a diuretic it should be used cautiously with diuretic and blood-pressure medicines and with plenty of fluids. Do not rely on it to pass or dissolve significant kidney stones — urinary stones need medical assessment.
