Sedum acre (biting stonecrop, wall-pepper) is a small yellow-flowered succulent with a sharp, peppery taste. Used traditionally (externally) to burn off warts, corns and calluses, it contains irritant piperidine alkaloids and can blister the skin, so it is a caustic external remedy, not for internal use.عنقود الحجر اللاذع (Sedum acre، فلفل الجدار) عصاريّة صغيرة صفراء الأزهار بطعمٍ حادّ حرّيف. تُستعمل تقليدياً (خارجياً) لكيّ الثآليل والمسامير والجساءات، وتحوي قلويدات بيبيريدينية مُهيِّجة وقد تُبثِّر الجلد، فهي علاجٌ خارجيّ كاوٍ لا للاستعمال الداخلي.

Biting stonecrop contains piperidine alkaloids (sedamine and others) that give it an acrid, irritant, blistering action — the basis of its traditional external use to remove warts, corns and calluses. The same irritant/alkaloid content makes internal use unsafe (it can cause nausea, vomiting and other effects). The fresh, acrid plant or its juice was applied externally to burn off warts, corns and calluses and to wounds and skin growths, and used (cautiously) in folk medicine for high blood pressure and as a purgative — the internal use now considered unsafe.وُضِعت النبتة الطازجة اللاذعة أو عصيرها خارجياً لكيّ الثآليل والمسامير والجساءات وعلى الجروح ونموّات الجلد، واستُعملت (بحذر) في الطبّ الشعبي لارتفاع الضغط ومُسهِّلاً — والاستعمال الداخلي يُعدّ الآن غير آمن.
