Tragacanth gum is a safe, approved food additive (E413) and pharmaceutical binder/emulsifier; studies show demulcent, bulk-laxative, wound-dressing and even mild pain-relieving effects, and it acts as a prebiotic fibre. Human medicinal trials are limited but its safety as a food gum is well established.صمغ التراغاكانث مضافٌ غذائيّ آمن معتمد (E413) ورابطٌ/مُستحلِب دوائيّ؛ وتُظهر الدراسات تأثيراتٍ مُطرّية ومُليّنة كتلية ومُضمِّدة للجروح وحتى مسكّنة خفيفة، ويعمل أليافاً بريبايوتيك. والتجارب الدوائية البشرية محدودة لكنّ سلامته صمغاً غذائياً راسخة.

Cautionتحذيرات
Very low-risk. As a bulk laxative it must be taken with plenty of water to avoid it swelling and blocking the throat or gut — do not take it dry, and avoid in swallowing disorders or bowel obstruction. Rarely, it can cause allergy in sensitive people.منخفض الخطورة جداً. وكمُليّنٍ كتليّ يجب أخذه مع ماءٍ وفير تفادياً لانتفاخه وسدّه الحلق أو الأمعاء — لا يُؤخذ جافّاً، ويُتجنَّب في اضطرابات البلع أو انسداد الأمعاء. ونادراً قد يُسبّب حساسيةً لدى الحسّاسين.
