Curcuma aeruginosa (pink-and-blue ginger, temu hitam / 'black turmeric') is a Southeast-Asian turmeric with a blue-tinged rhizome, used to expel worms, for the stomach and appetite, in post-partum care, and for inflammation. Studies show anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and 5α-reductase-inhibiting (of interest for hair loss) activity.الكركم المُزرقّ (Curcuma aeruginosa، تيمو هيتام، «الكركم الأسود») كركمٌ من جنوب شرق آسيا بجذمورٍ مائل للأزرق، يُستعمل لطرد الديدان وللمعدة والشهية وفي العناية بعد الولادة وللالتهاب. وتُظهِر الدراسات نشاطاً مضاداً للالتهاب والأكسدة ومثبّطاً لـ5-ألفا ريدكتاز (مهمّ لتساقط الشعر).

Studies of Curcuma aeruginosa document anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity and note that its rhizome extract inhibits 5α-reductase (the enzyme in hair loss and prostate enlargement), which has prompted interest in hair-growth products; the essential oil has antiparasitic effects consistent with its traditional deworming use. Cautionتحذيرات
Generally used safely in traditional amounts. Because it inhibits 5α-reductase and is used for the womb, avoid medicinal doses in pregnancy and take care with hormone-sensitive conditions. The essential oil is potent — use topical products as directed. Do not confuse it with other Curcuma species. Use modest amounts.يُستعمل بأمانٍ عموماً بالكميات التقليدية. ولأنه يثبّط 5-ألفا ريدكتاز ويُستعمل للرحم، تجنّب الجرعات الدوائية في الحمل واحذر مع الحالات الحسّاسة للهرمونات. والزيت الطيّار قويّ — استعمِل المنتجات الموضعية بحسب الإرشاد. ولا تخلطه بأنواع الكركم الأخرى. واستعمِل كميات معتدلة.
