Studies confirm Terminalia avicennioides bark has strong antibacterial and antifungal activity and, alongside African birch, trypanocidal activity against sleeping-sickness parasites, plus antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects — supporting its traditional use for infections, wounds and the gut. Cautionتحذيرات
Very high in tannins: strong or prolonged internal use can upset the stomach, cause constipation and reduce absorption of iron and medicines (space them out). Best used short-term and often externally (wounds, mouth). Seek medical care for malaria, sleeping sickness or serious infection rather than relying on the herb alone.عالي التانين جداً: قد يُزعِج الاستعمال الداخلي القويّ أو المطوّل المعدة ويسبّب إمساكاً ويقلّل امتصاص الحديد والأدوية (باعِد بينها). والأفضل استعماله قصير الأمد وخارجياً غالباً (الجروح، الفم). واطلب الرعاية الطبية للملاريا أو مرض النوم أو العدوى الخطيرة بدل الاعتماد على العشبة وحدها.
