Herniaria hirsuta (hairy rupturewort) is a small creeping herb long used as a diuretic and urinary remedy — especially, as modern research supports, for kidney stones. Herniaria hirsuta is one of the better-evidenced anti-kidney-stone herbs: studies show its aqueous extract reduces calcium-oxalate crystal formation, coats crystals and blocks their adhesion to kidney cells, and reduces stone formation in rats, with toxicity studies supporting reasonable safety. Used as a diuretic and urinary remedy for kidney and bladder gravel/stones, cystitis and urinary retention, as a urinary antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, and (as the old name 'rupturewort' suggests) traditionally for hernia and as a mild astringent.تُستعمل مُدرّاً وعلاجاً بولياً لرمل/حصى الكلى والمثانة والتهاب المثانة واحتباس البول ومطهّراً بولياً ومضاداً للالتهاب و(كما يوحي الاسم القديم «عشبة الفتق») تقليدياً للفتق وقابضاً خفيفاً.

Cautionتحذيرات
Because it is a saponin-containing diuretic, use moderate amounts with plenty of water, and use cautiously with diuretic and blood-pressure medicines; large doses can irritate the gut. Importantly, kidney stones need medical assessment — willowherb-type urinary herbs are supportive, but severe pain, blood in urine or a stuck stone are medical emergencies.لأنّها مُدرّ حاوٍ للصابونين، تُستعمل كميات معتدلة مع ماءٍ وافر، وتُستعمل بحذر مع أدوية الإدرار والضغط؛ والجُرَع الكبيرة قد تهيّج الأمعاء. والأهمّ أنّ حصى الكلى تحتاج تقييماً طبياً — فالأعشاب البوليّة داعمة، لكنّ الألم الشديد أو دم البول أو الحصاة العالقة طوارئ طبية.
