Research on the Tribulus genus supports diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and smooth-muscle-relaxing effects and traditional use for urinary complaints and stones; most studies are on Tribulus terrestris, with T. lanuginosus regarded as a closely related, similarly-used species. As with other Tribulus species, it may lower blood sugar and blood pressure (additive with related medicines), and rare liver/kidney reactions have been reported with Tribulus supplements. Confirm the species, since Tribulus roots are frequently substituted. Avoid in pregnancy.كسائر أنواع «تريبولوس»، قد يخفض سكر الدم وضغطه (بالإضافة إلى الأدوية المماثلة)، وأُبلِغ عن تفاعلاتٍ نادرة للكبد/الكلى مع مكمّلات «تريبولوس». وتأكّد من النوع، إذ تُستبدَل جذوره كثيراً. ويُتجنَّب في الحمل.
